Candelária is a civil parish in the municipality of Ponta Delgada on São Miguel island in the Azores. The population in 2001 was 1184, its density approximately 136.41/km² and in an area of about 8.68 km². It is located in the western part of the island of São Miguel and is connected by roads linking it to Mosteiros, Feteiras and Ponta Delgada, accessed routine/daily by bus transport. The region is divided between farmlands, which predominate, and forest vegatation along the rim of the Sete Cidades crater (which it borders to the interior).
The main industry in this region is agriculture. Candelária has a school, a lyceum, a church and a square (praça).
